Appointments with the Doctor or Nurse
Following feedback from our recent patient survey and government initiatives, we are rationalising our appointments system. This makes it easier to book appointments ahead at times to suit patients. However, for urgent appointments on the day, all requests must be made by telephone. This means that (with your co-operation) all these requests can be managed on the day.
In order to further improve the availability of appointments, we have increased the number of appointments that can be booked in advance.
The booking of appointments in advance can still be made in person at the desk.
Please remember that each appointment is for one patient only. If you wish to see the doctor of your choice you may have to wait longer than usual.
If you have any comments please do not hesitate to ask a member of staff.
Advance appointments with the doctor or the nurse can be made in person or by telephoning (01246) 823742/825487 between 0800 and 1830. All telephone calls are recorded for training and monitoring purposes.

You must sign up with the Surgery to use this service for the first time (please note you will need to provide photographic ID).
In addition to our existing appointments, as a patient at Welbeck Road Heath Centre you have access to the Extended Access appointments which are available at Barlborough Medical Practice, The Springs Medical Partnership or Welbeck Road Health Centre.
These are available in core hours, in evening and also at weekends. Please click here for further information, or alternatively ask a member of the reception team.
Cancelling an Appointment
Please arrive promptly and remember to cancel your appointment if you can no longer keep it; someone else may need to see the doctor urgently.
In order to try and tackle our increasing problem with patients who do not turn up to appointments or fail to inform us that they are unable to attend, after 2 occasions patients will be sent a letter. If they continue to regularly offend they may be removed from our patient list.
We hope as a result of this action we will see an improvement in our DNA (Did Not Attend) rate that currently stands at over 200 per month. This equates to 33.5 hours of appointment time wasted.
