GP Partners

DR RACHAEL BENTLEY

MB ChB, MRCGP, DRCOG, DCH, DFSRH (with LoC IUT and IUS), Diploma in Diabetes

Dr. Bentley qualified in 2000 from Sheffield and has a special interest in diabetes and family planning. She is skilled in dealing with contraceptive coils and implants. Dr. Bentley is also a trainer for our GP registrars.

DR VAN TRINH

MBChB, MRCGP

Dr. Trinh began working at the practice as a salaried GP in 2016. She has a special interest in frailty and safeguarding for vulnerable adults. In October 2019, Dr. Trinh became a partner at the practice. Currently, Dr Trinh is on maternity leave.

DR TOM SPROSON

BMedSci (Hons), MBChB, MRCGP, PGCertClinEd, LoC IUT and IMP

Dr. Sproson qualified as a doctor in Sheffield in 2013. He joined our team as a GP Partner in 2019. His interests include palliative care and family planning, and he is skilled in performing procedures such as fitting contraceptive coils and implants, as well as administering joint injections. Additionally, he serves as a GP trainer for our GP Registrars.

DR LOUISE HARRINGTON

MBChB, MRCGP

Dr. Harrington is a member of our team who joined us in 2020. She qualified as a doctor in 2013 from the University of Sheffield and helps coordinate our palliative care services. In April 2025, Dr. Harrington became a GP Partner.

DR SELINA FLINDERS

MB ChB, MRCGP, DRCOG

Dr. Flinders graduated in 1999 from the University of Leicester. She has a special interest in child protection and serves as our Lead GP for Child Safeguarding.

DR BRONIA RAFFERTY

MBChB, MRCGP

Dr. Rafferty graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2001. She has worked in various hospital specialities before completing her GP training in 2013.

DR RUTH RASTRICK

MBChB, MRCGP

Dr. Rastrick joined the GP team in 2023 after qualifying from Sheffield Medical School in 2018.

DR SYED HASAN

MBBS, MRCS, MRCGP

Dr. Hasan graduated as a doctor in 2010 from Ziauddin University in Pakistan. Since then, he has primarily worked in surgery before transitioning to training as a general practitioner (GP) with us. In 2023, he officially joined our team as a salaried GP.

DR UZAIR AMJAD

MBBS, MRCGP, DFSEM (UK)

Dr. Amjad joined the team in 2024 after a diverse medical career. He graduated from Jiamusi University in 2010 and began his career working in Pakistan and the Maldives. In 2016, he moved to the UK, where he worked in the Chesterfield Royal Hospital's Accident and Emergency (A&E) department. He completed his General Practice (GP) training in Chesterfield in 2022.

Dr Wallis is covering sessions for Dr Trinh whilst she is on maternity leave.

Paramedic

REBECCA .

Rebecca recently joined the surgery in June 2023 to become a part of the clinical team. Her main interests are cardiology and respiratory systems, but she enjoys all aspects of General Practice and will be working towards becoming an Advanced Clinical Practitioner. Rebecca started her career in the Ambulance Service in 2015, and most recently as a Senior Clinical Leader within the Derbyshire Division.

GP Registrars / GP Locums / GP ST1, ST2, ST3

Our registrars are doctors who have experience in other aspects of medicine but are now training in General Practice. A GP locum is a fully qualified doctor providing temporary cover for other GPs in our practice. A GPST1, GPST2, and GPST3 (trainee) refer to the first, second, and third years of a Speciality Training programme to become a GP.

DR TESS HARDWICK

Dr. Hardwick is our current GP locum. (A GP locum is a fully qualified and registered General Practitioner who works temporarily for a doctor's surgery or hospital, filling a position on an ad-hoc or temporary basis for another GP who is absent due to sickness, holidays, or other reasons).

DR NNEKA OKAFOR GPST3

Dr. Okafor is in her final year of GP training. Her trainer is Dr Bentley.

DR NAY KYAW GPST3

Dr. Kyaw is in his final year of GP training. His trainer is Dr. Rastrick.

Medical Students

As we are a training Practice, we have medical students joining us sporadically throughout the year. The medical students will be seeing patients accompanied by a GP Partner or sitting in consultations with some of our other Clinical team members. --- We have the next rotation of medical students joining us from Sheffield on Monday (16.03.2026); their names are: Louis E, Mojerijesuloluwa O, Saoirse W.

Phlebotomy

AMY .

Amy is our highly skilled phlebotomist who joined us from Sheffield Children's Hospital.

Nurses

JAYNE .

SEN General Nursing Diploma and 1990 RGN General Nursing Degree 1995

Jayne began her career as a State Enrolled Nurse in Poole, Dorset, before completing a conversion course at Hereford Hospital to become a Registered General Nurse (RGN). She is skilled in childhood immunisations, INR and anticoagulant monitoring, cervical smears, travel health advice, and phlebotomy. Jayne also manages our day-to-day clinics, performs ECGs, and provides general practice nurse services. In addition to her professional qualifications, Jayne has been a military wife for over 30 years, as her husband serves in the Army. She is a strong supporter of our Armed Forces Covenant, which aims to assist all military veterans at our practice.

EMMA .

Advanced Diploma in Adult Nursing in 2004, BSC (Hons) 2012 and BSC in General Practice Nursing 2015

Emma is a registered nurse with expertise in childhood immunisations, the use of ring pessaries, conducting cervical smears, performing phlebotomy, monitoring ECGs, and managing INR levels. She is also a non-medical prescriber. Emma graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2004 with an Advanced Diploma in Adult Nursing. She later completed a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Adult Nursing in 2012 and a Bachelor of Science in General Practice Nursing in 2015. Additionally, Emma has a strong interest in managing chronic diseases such as asthma, diabetes, COPD, and high blood pressure.

ELLIE .

BSc (Hons), MSc

Ellie is our Advanced Nurse Practitioner with a special interest in respiratory conditions. She currently provides care to patients with minor illnesses and injuries. Ellie completed her Master's in Advanced Clinical Practice in 2023 and has also undertaken short courses in Paediatric Assessment and Enhanced Palliative Care.

Chris serves as the Digital Lead for the Primary Care Network (PCN).

Social Prescribing

Social Prescribing is a free holistic support service available to all patients 18yrs+, that aims to improve health, well-being, and environmental health in a person-centred way. Your Social Prescribing Link Worker will help you to explore and plan a pathway to help you lead a healthier lifestyle. We will help build confidence and motivation, promote behaviour change and set agreed goals to keep you on track. At Welbeck Road Health Centre, we feel Social Prescribing has a positive impact on environmental health.

Julie is an experienced Social Prescribing Link Worker for our North Hardwick and Bolsover Primary Care Networks (PCN).

ISABELLE .

Isabelle is an experienced Social Prescribing Link Worker for our North Hardwick and Bolsover Primary Care Networks (PCN).

RICHARD .

Richard is an experienced Social Prescribing Link Worker for our North Hardwick and Bolsover Primary Care Networks (PCN).

CLAIRE .

Claire is an experienced Social Prescribing Link Worker for the North Hardwick and Bolsover Primary Care Networks (PCN).

Physiotherapy Assessment Service

The first contact physiotherapy service are a highly skilled team designed to assess patients presenting with new muscle or joint issues. They provide remote phone or in-person assessments at Welbeck Road. We also have access to a web resource, which includes some assessment and focus exercises. Care Co-ordinators

Our team of care co-ordinators are there to help support patients with additional needs. Such as support with accessing social services, care agencies, respite care. They also get involved to help with people with palliative care needs and those at risk of recurrent hospital admission. Their role is reasonably new to the practice and it is an exciting area we are continuing to develop.

TRACY .

Tracy is a highly skilled member of our team. She serves as our practice care coordinator and operational manager, overseeing various aspects of the practice and coordinating patient care to ensure that patients receive the appropriate medical services and resources. Additionally, Tracy handles all new patient registrations and assists Kirsty with summarising patient medical records.

Healthcare Assistants

CLARE .

Clare is an experienced healthcare assistant who is more than happy to help. Her responsibilities include taking blood samples, measuring blood pressure, administering certain injections, performing chronic disease checks, conducting health reviews for individuals with learning disabilities, and much more.

SADIE .

Sadie is an experienced healthcare assistant, primarily serving as our GP assistant.

Mrs Fillipich is both a Partner and the Practice Manager at Welbeck Road Health Centre.

Michelle has been our Deputy Practice Manager since 2021 and is always approachable, extremely knowledgeable, and eager to help.

Louise is a knowledgeable, highly experienced member of the referral team.

CLAIRE .

Claire is an experienced member of the administration team. Claire is our rota Queen! She helps ensure the smooth transition of appointments and coordinates our medical students, registrars, and GPs.

CHRISSIE .

Chrissie is our Patient Care Administrator, playing a crucial role in ensuring seamless coordination of patient appointments and long-term condition health monitoring checks. With her organisational skills and compassionate approach, Chrissie also regularly updates our social media pages and website.

HELEN .

Helen is an experienced member of the reception and administration team, always willing to help where possible. She organises and coordinates all incoming patient correspondence and information.

Reception

SONIA SPRAY

Office Supervisor

Sonia supervises our reception office and coordinates the reception team. If you have any queries regarding the reception team or how we handle inquiries, feel free to ask to speak with her.

Bethany is a knowledgeable member of the reception team who also assists the practice with all incoming test results.

LIANNA .

Lianna is an experienced member of the reception team who assists with insurance-related tasks (copying records, redacting, private letters, etc).

LAUREN .

Lauren is a skilled member of the reception team and is also our practice data administrator.

SARAH .

Sarah is an experienced member of the reception team who also assists Kat with patient recalls.

KIRSTY .

Kirsty is a skilled member of the reception team. Kirsty also assists Tracy with inputting new patient registrations and summarising patient medical records.

HELEN .

Helen is an experienced member of the reception and administration team, always willing to help where possible. She organises and coordinates all incoming patient correspondence and information.

KATRINA .

Kat is an experienced member of our reception and administration team. Kat also manages all of our patient recalls.

JACQUI .

Jacqui is a knowledgeable member of the reception team who assists with insurance-related tasks (copying records, redacting, private letters, etc).

SHANNON .

Shannon is an experienced member of the reception team and also assists the practice in organising all newborn and children’s immunisations.

Pharmacists

MARK .

Mark is our highly experienced practice pharmacist who holds a prescribing license. He is capable of reviewing patients clinically for both new and ongoing health issues. His particular interests include asthma management, blood pressure control, and contraception.

LAURA .

MPharm, PGDip

Laura is our experienced practice pharmacist and a qualified independent prescriber. She has a particular interest in blood pressure control, menopause, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), and medicines optimisation.

CHARLIE .

Charlie is one of our experienced practice Pharmacists.

ANTONIA .

Antonia is one of our experienced practice Pharmacists who has recently successfully passed her prescribing exams.

Jane is our dispensary supervisor. She is highly experienced and always willing to help.

Nina is a knowledgeable member of the dispensary team. Nina primarily works at our Glapwell branch.

Carole is a knowledgeable member of the dispensary team and is happy to assist when possible.

Fiona is a knowledgeable member of the dispensary team and is willing to assist whenever possible.

HOME VISITING SERVICE

We have access to a home visiting service called Team Up, which is provided by a multi-disciplinary team that includes a General Practitioner and Nurse Practitioners.
